Monarch is home to faculty members whose groundbreaking research is making a significant impact globally. Dr. Patrick Juola, the Joseph A. Lauritis, C.S.Sp., Endowed Chair in Teaching and Technology, was selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2024-2025 and will collaborate with Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest to enhance natural language processing in Hungarian.
- Dr. Donald Very and Dr. Neil Campbell received funding to launch the STEMup program, supporting workforce development in the biotechnology sector in western Pennsylvania.
- Dr. Tammy Hughes and Professor Kara Dempsey were awarded a grant for the Youth Advocacy Clinic, advancing support for young people in need of legal services.
- Dr. Devika S. Manickam, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences, was honored with the Young Investigator Award in Bioengineering from the Controlled Release Society and is now leading a Department of Defense-funded project to develop innovative therapies for ALS and neurodegenerative diseases.
